Bill "Figmo" Madonna

FAMILY: Pug Dog - Skeeter
EMPLOYMENT: Owner - Roadless Gear, LLC http://www.roadlessgear.com
A BIT OF LIFE HISTORY: Software engineer for 20 years and enjoyed 4Wheelin as a hobby since before I had my driver's license. Now I own my own offroad shop and I write software in my spare time for fun. So what used to be my hobby is now my job. And what used to be my job is now my hobby. Life can be wierd sometimes, ya know?
4X4 VEHICLES: Currently into small, light weight rigs. Suzuki
Samurais.
Previously built full sized pickups when I was younger in the Southwestern
Deserts.
MODIFICATIONS DONE TO YOU PRESENT RIDE: 1988 Suzuki Samurai, 4" BDS Lift, 32x11.50 Mud Terrains, LockRight rear, ARB front, 6.49:1 T-Case gears, 1.3L motor with ALOT of work done to it (Weber Outlaw carb, oversized exhaust valves, ported and polished intake)
FAVORITE VEHICLE OF ALL TIME: My first trail rig. A beat to hell 1962 International Scout. The damn thing weighed 2 tons but would crawl a tree if I asked her to. My high school sweety and I had some fun times out in the middle of nowhere in the back of that vehicle <smiles>
IF MONEY WAS NOT A OBJECT, WHAT WOULD YOU DRIVE OFF ROAD?
My current vehicle suits my needs just fine. I did not build it because it was
all I
could afford. I built it because this is what I want right now. If I had a million
dollars, I'd most likely build the same thing all over again.
SAME QUESTION BUT ON ROAD? Chevy SSR. Ok - so now that I think of it if money were no object I'd build a rock crawling SSR.
FAVORITE TRAIL OR TRAILS? Moab rocks! My favorite trails in Moab would have to be The Amasa Back Trail (Cliffhanger) and Kane Creek.
TRAIL OR AREA THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO RUN SOME TIME? I have run most of the well known trails in the Western US. But have never been further east than Attica, Indiana (Badlands ORV Park). So I'd like to see some of what the Eastern and Southern US is like. Uwharrie National Forest OHV area comes to mind.
SAME QUESTION BUT UN-REALISTIC? Rock crawling on Stone Henge in
England
<laughs>. But seriously - New Zealand puts on an annual race across some
of the roughest terrain possible. Bottomless mud pits. Raging rivers. You name
it. I'd love to enter a team in this race. Also - crossing the glaciers of Greenland
would be most cool.
FAVORITE TYPE OF FOUR WHEELING? Scenic trails and rock crawling.
WHAT OTHER THINGS DO YOU LIKE TO DO: I still enjoy writing computer
software. Also enjoy singing Karaoke. For summer fun, usually once week you'll
find me on an inner tube on one of the rivers in the Bitteroot Valley.
FUTURE GOALS IN LIFE? To eventually retire and live out of a motor
home
travelling the country (with trail vehicle in tow)
IF YOU COULD BE ANYTHING IN LIFE WHAT JOB WOULD YOU HAVE? I have the best job in the world and would not trade it for anything short of Bill Gate's job.
